Incoming residents are given the utmost emotional support and assistance when moving into Princes Court Homes. Individual needs and preferences are not only identified but supported in all facets of life. Residents are supported to maintain their independence, social connections, leisure and lifestyle choices including cultural and spiritual life.

As an accredited aged care provider there are some item’s we are required to provide for you in your room. These include things such as a bed, and associated bedding, your room will have air-conditioning and window furnishings and each room is serviced with its own ensuite. It’s also important that you are able to surround yourself with the things you love, so we encourage residents to bring with them, any special items of furniture and personal effects.

The only thing we ask residents and families to consider is the risks in having a ‘cluttered’ room. This could make it difficult for staff to properly clean and provide care to you, or may even pose a falls risk while you are moving around. We can work with you on setting your room up to be as safe as possible, while still feeling like it’s your own.

Some of the items we encourage new residents to bring are:

  • Small furniture items
  • Small bar fridge (maintenance and stocking of this remains the responsibility of the resident)
  • Television / DVD player;
  • Radio / CD player;
  • Bedside light;
  • Photos;
  • Pictures / paintings;
  • Books, music and other memorabilia

We encourage new residents to bring in their personal lounge chair or recliner to provide personal comfort and familiarity. Electronic lift chairs are also welcomed but they will be required to be tested and tagged by our maintenance staff before use.
